Holmen Timber has launched its project for a new sawmill in Braviken near Norrköping, Sweden. With its annual lumber production capacity of 750,000 cu.m., the new sawmill will be one of Europe’s largest, showcasing the very latest technology.
BRUKS will deliver the following systems to Braviken sawmill:
- Complete bark handling systems with a BRUKS Rotom bark hog for bark and waste from two debarking lines.
- A complete residue handling system for chips, sawdust and trim ends from the saw line and green sorting plant, including the well known BRUKS Tubulator conveyors, a BRUKS DH drum chipper and the MTS system for thickness screening of chips, which will be the first sawmill application.
- Complete residue and materials handling systems for the dry-sorting and planing lines with one more Rotom hog for converting larger-size, dry residue into biofuel.
The new sawmill will be commissioned in January 2011.
