JCE Group acquires company in USA
– Rockwood joins the BRUKS Group
On Friday it was decided that the international mechanical-engineering group BRUKS, part of Christer Eriksson’s JCE Group, is to acquire the world-leading USA-based company Rockwood Materials Handling Inc. This further strengthens BRUKS’ market position.
BRUKS, which markets, develops and manufactures wood-processing machines, has increased its sales volumes by 75 percent over the past year. Recently, the company has begun extensive strategy work for the next five years, aimed at further strengthening its market position through offensive product development and strategic acquisition. One element of this is the acquisition of Rockwood Materials Handling, which develops system solutions for the efficient handling of bulk products.
“We have cooperated with Rockwood for a number of years, so this is a natural progression because our products and solutions complement each other very well. Through the acquisition we are now able to offer present and future customers complete materials handling. We can also see development opportunities and marketing potential within the energy sector, terminals and bulk handling,” says Anders Gustafsson, MD BRUKS.
Third major acquisition in ten months
Rockwood is a world leading company in the design, installation and maintenance of logistics systems for bulk handling in the paper, energy, port terminals and minerals industries. The company, which has its head office in Atlanta, has a turnover of USD 13 million.
Rockwood is BRUKS’ third major company acquisition in the course of ten months. This summer they acquired the Rotum brand and, earlier this year, Celltec Wood Ab.
“These acquisitions, along with greatly increased sales, mean that there is a continued need for more recruitment,” concludes Anders Gustafsson.
