General Description

Mode of Operation
The log is fed from the side into the V-blocks, with its butt end above the cutter, and triggers the automatic start of the work cycle. The hold-down arm goes down and fixes the log; the cutter goes up and the toothed chains on V-blocks and hold-down arm rotate the log while the cutter mills off the root flares.
The log rotation is load-controlled. The log is rotated once. The rotating time is determined individually by an automatic diameter sensor built into the hold-down arm. After reduction the cutter goes down, the arm goes up and the kickers unload the log, while a signal is given for the infeed of the next log.

Design
The machine is built as a complete unit including mechanical, hydraulic
and electrical control equipment. All of the following components are
mounted on a common frame:
•4 V-blocks, the first two with log turning chains powered by a common
gear motor.
•V-shaped hold-down arm, raised and lowered hydraulically, with log
turning chains powered by a gear motor. Two upper idle positions, one
adjustable; the customer supplies a signal that makes the arm go into top position for oversize logs. Proportional valve for smooth arm movements.
•Cutter with direct electric motor drive, hydraulically raised and lowered into its end positions and two alternative working positions chosen manually to reduce the cutting depth. All working positions are adjustable.
•4 kickers, hydraulically controlled, with two unloading speeds; the lower speed is controlled by the signal for oversize logs. Proportional valve for smooth kicker movements.
•Complete hydraulics with cylinders, valves, hoses, pipes, tank with oil and
heater, pump with motor and filter.

All components mounted, test-run and tuned. Pump and tank unit delivered separately.

•Electrical system with cables, switches, sensors and motors, completely mounted, cables connected to a common switch box on the machine. Separate control cabinet with programmable control system, contactors, overload protectors for all motors, fuses, main circuit breaker. Control system programmed for the work cycle, infeed and outfeed interlocking, and signals for oversize logs.
Separate control panel with display and all necessary switches for start, stop, control, and program selection.
