Waste Receiving Hopper

Waste Receiving Hoppers

Rockwood Materials Handling offers an innovative hopper specifically designed to receive difficult to handle materials such as wood waste and other refuse products typically consumed by biomass operations.

The waste hopper is designed to install above grade thus minimizing the need for expensive high maintenance pits. In addition to reducing the need for expensive civil works the Rockwood Hopper is designed so that field installation requirements are minimized.

The extra wide design of the waste hopper enables customers to receive and process the most difficult to handle materials. The hopper’s wide receiving area provides for uninhibited flow of material as it transfers from the trailer. Once in the hopper, the material is allowed to spread to its natural angle of repose without bridging against steep containment walls. The material is then transferred out of the hopper through an adjustable shear gate. The material out can be further regulated using variable speed motors offered as standard equipment on the Rockwood Machine.
